Precut Window Film for Home

Precut window film kits for your home are the easiest way and most economical way to DIY install window tint in your home.  Our precut window film kits for home are designed to provide an easy, professional-grade solution for homeowners looking to improve privacy, reduce heat, and add a touch of elegance to their living spaces.

We have four precut window film kits in stock and ready to ship that are tailored for double-hung windows, casement windows, storm doors, and patio doors. We also have a custom cut option, perfect for those unique windows or doors that don’t fit into the standard size kits.

Why Choose Precut Window Film?

Precut window film offers several advantages:

Easier to handle

Each piece is cut to the rough dimensions of your window or door glass. You don’t have to work with large rolls or pieces of film that are too wieldy for your glass size.

Ease of Installation

We precut the film to size for you so that you can avoid this step. For most standard window sizes, you can simply trim the excess film at the window.

Buy what you need

With our kits, you are buying just the film you need for your job and aren’t paying for more square footage than is required.

We have four precut window film kits of our ComforTech™ Ceramic Series window film that we keep in stock in all five shades. The kits are on the shelf and ready to ship the same day you order.

1. Double Hung Precut Window Film Kit

These kits can be used for both single or double hung windows.

Double-hung (or single-hung) windows are a classic feature in many homes and are the most popular window style in the United States. These window types are very similar in appearance, having two framed panes of glass (or sashes) fixed vertically in a larger frame. The sashes move up and down vertically within the frame to open and clean the windows.

The difference between a double hung and a single hung window is simply that with a double hung window, both sashes can move up and down. With a single hung window, only the bottom sash can move up and down. The top sash is stationary.

Each double hung window film kit can be used on either double or single hung window. The kits come with two pieces of window film (one for each sash) cut to 30” x 36”. These were developed to fit 80% of the standard double hung window sizes on the market.

2. Casement Window Precut Window Film Kit

These kits can be used for both casement or sliding/gliding windows.

Casement windows, and sliding/gliding windows are windows where the sashes are mounted horizontally next to each other in the window frame.

Casement Window -

With casement windows, the sashes are opened outward using a crank found inside the home. With sliding or gliding windows, the sashes move across the frame from left to right.

Each casement window film kit comes with two pieces of window film (one for each sash) 20” x 60” to fit the majority of casement or sliding/gliding window sizes.

3. Storm Door Precut Window Film Kit

Storm doors are a vital barrier against the elements, but they can also benefit from window film to prevent the entry doors they protect from overheating. You can read more about issues storm doors can cause here: https://windowfilm.com/the-hidden-impact-of-storm-doors-door-damage/.

Each storm door comes with one piece of window film precut to 36” x 76” to fit most standard storm doors sold in the U.S.

4. Patio Door Precut Window Film Kit

Patio doors provide beautiful views and easy access to your outdoor spaces, but they can also let in excessive heat and compromise privacy. Also known as sliding glass doors or sliders, patio doors are typically constructed like a large gliding/sliding window with two large sashes in a frame—one moves left to right to open the door, and the other sash remains stationary.

Our patio door precut window film kit comes with two pieces precut to 36” x 76” to fit most standard patio or sliding glass doors sold in the U.S.

A couple of things to note with these kits are:

  1. You can orient the film pieces either way. For example, a 30” x 36” piece of film can be used for a 34” x 28” window.
  2. Just because the kit says storm door doesn’t mean you can’t use it for a larger window if the dimensions fit.

Custom Cut Window Film Kits

Not every window or door fits standard dimensions, and that’s where our custom cut kits come in. If you have uniquely sized or shaped windows and doors, we can custom cut pieces of film to your rough window sizes.

How to Measure Your Windows for Precut Window Film Kits

An important step to complete before ordering window film is determining how much film you need. To do this, you need to measure your windows.

With a tape measure, you only need to measure the width and height of the glass portion of your windows. Do not include the window frame.

Then add one inch to the width as well as to the height for exact trimming to size (some older windows may not be plumb and final trimming ensures a perfect installation and is industry standard installation practice).

So for example, if your window glass measures 28” wide and 33” high, you’ll want to work with measurements of 29” x 34” to determine how much film you need.
