What’s Included in the Concord Window Film Installation Tool Kit? 📦

Your kit includes all the essential tools needed for a smooth DIY installation:

• 3” Triumph Scraper – a razor blade scraper to clean the glass prior to window film installation. Preparation is key to a successful installation!
• Slip-Tack Mounting Solution (for cleaning and installation) – a pure soap solution with no additives like coloring or fragrances that both cleans the glass and gives us some slip to manipulate the film during install but dries clear maintaining the optical clarity of the film.
• Blue Max Squeegee – the ultimate window film installation tool. The proper squeegee with the correct hardness is a must for a professional finish. It must be hard enough to evacuate the liquid from under the film, but soft enough (and the right material) to not mar the film during installation.
• Spray Bottle – a clean, quart sized spray bottle. A clean spray bottle is important to ensure no cross-contamination from previous cleaners or products that may have been in the bottle that might have a negative impact on the adhesive of the film or compromise the optical clarity of the film.
• Utility Knife – a small utility knife to complete the final trim of the film at the window. Two are provided in each kit. The knives have snap-off blades so you always have a sharp edge to make clean cuts.
• Yellow Film Marking Pencil – use this grease pencil to mark the film for any cuts you may need to make (depending on how you purchased the film).

Do I Really Need the Tool Kit?

This is a frequently asked question we get.  A lot of folks will say that they already have a squeegee and most people have a spray bottle and utility knife in their household. There are a few reasons why we think it’s important to get window film specific tools and new tools to use for this project:

1. Your squeegee (or other tool) might not be be suitable for use with window film. Our tools are specifically made for or chosen because they work well with window film and are the same tools professionals use when installing window film for clients. 
2. Fresh tools – like a clean, unused spray bottle and a utlity knife with plenty of sharp blades – are important for a good installation. You don’t want to contimate the film or compromise the adhesion of the film by inadvertantly introducing residue from a previous chemical that may have been in a spray bottle onto your film. A new clean bottle eliminates this risk. Similiarly, you want to have a scraper and knife with sharp, new blades for the best possible results.
3. If you use your own tools – we will have difiiculty assessing any installation issues you run into. The majority of installation problems we’ve seen folks have, have been a result of not using the proper tools for installation – like using a window cleaning squeegee (not strong enough) to install film or using a credit card (too sharp of an edge that can scratch even a durable protective coating of the film).
