Do you want to enjoy the benefits of window film in your home, but are wondering “can I install window film myself?”
Well, spoiler alert: the answer is a resounding yes! With Concord’s ComforTech™ Series kits, installing window film is a breeze. Our film is professional-grade and easy to handle making working with ComforTech so much easy than the competition.
But before we dive in, let’s address why ComforTech™ is a game-changer for DIYers.
Before ComforTech™ Ceramic Series DIY Kits
Historically, the most technologically advanced window film was only sold through professional installers. Consumers who wanted to install window film themselves could only purchase lower quality, inexpensive film that was difficult to install and didn’t perform well.
No product specifications
Just do a search for window film on amazon and you will find a lot of products without a lot of specific specifications.
For example, they may tell you the VLT but not the type of film technology it uses (dyed, metallic, ceramic, etc.). They will mention UV protection but won’t tell you how thick the film is. The bottom line is, you have no idea what you are buying and installing in your home.
All professional window films will provide you with their exact product specifications:
And another word of warning, many of the cheaper films you find online are static cling films that aren’t made to be permanently applied and won’t last as long as adhesive films. You will only find this information in the fine print.
Film that is hard to install
We spent a long time thinking about how to bring DIY film to the market in a way that works. We looked at the reviews of existing DIY films and read about the installation headaches of thin, cheap, pressure-sensitive (read: sticky) films that are near impossible to handle without the film sticking to itself or creasing. And the result was we couldn’t find any product being offered by a big box store or online marketplace, that a pro would install in a home.
We felt like we could do better. The Concord Window Film story began with an idea that high-quality residential window film should be available to everyone who needs it. And so, we are making the same film that’s sold to professional installers and dealers available to you. And we’ve packaged it in easy-to-use, pre-cut kits that make installation a breeze. We believe the benefits of top-quality window film should be accessible to all. And we backed it up with our expertise – our team is full of experienced window film specialists who help customers every step of the way.
What makes Concord Window Film professional-grade?
Nano ceramic technology
It is the best technology for flat glass film.
Dyed films can fade or change color over time. Metallic films are shiny and highly reflective giving the outside of the home a mirrored look. Our ceramic coating is made from titanium nitride ground to nanometer scale to achieve a beautiful, clear color that looks natural and won’t fade over time like dyed films.
We use a dry adhesive in our ComforTech™ Ceramic Series films
Window film adhesives can be pressure-sensitive or dry. Pressure-sensitive adhesives are tacky to the touch and can stick to themselves or other objects during the installation process making them harder to work with. In addition, dust and other airborne particles can easily attach to pressure-sensitive films during installation. Our dry adhesive is only activated with water, so it won’t stick to itself during installation.
We have state-of-the-art manufacturing and control the entire value chain
ComforTech™ Ceramic Series films are made using a micro gravure process that deposits our nano ceramic particles uniformly for a beautiful, consistent color and performance. And we control every step of the manufacturing process: from the manufacture of the polyester film to the components, the adhesives, and the scratch-resistant top coat.
Our film is 2MIL thick
All of Concord’s ComforTech™ films are 2MIL (.002″ or 50 microns) thick compared to other big box and DIY brands which are only 1MIL thick. Thicker window film is easier to work with and has less of a tendency to crease when handled.
Also, while ComforTech™ Ceramic Series is NOT a safety film, 2MIL film will hold glass shards together if a window breaks, preventing the pieces from falling on the floor and causing injury.
