Silver 15 Reflective Window Film | Mirror Film for Home Privacy | One Way Privacy Window Film | Solar Control

(2 customer reviews)

Concord Window Film’s Silver 15 Reflective Window Film is a reflective tint made with metal that offers solar control and UV protection for your home.  Silver 15 Reflective Window Film presents an economical alternative to our ComforTech Ceramic Series for those who need solar control and don’t mind the shiny look of a metallic, mirror film.

Our Silver 15 installs like ComforTech™ with the exception that Silver 15 has a pressure-sensitive adhesive, meaning it will be sticky to the touch once the liner is removed. Extra care should be taken in handling the film to avoid it sticking to itself or other objects during installation.

Silver 15 Reflective film is sold in rolls. The film is rolled liner side out.

Key Silver 15 Reflective film features include:

Affordable Price

Silver 15 Reflective Window Film is an option for customers who need solar control and/or daytime privacy but are looking for a lower-priced alternative to ComforTech™ Ceramic Series film. This film is a metallic film and has the typical shiny silver metallic look, compared to the more neutral charcoal color of the ceramic film.

Solar Control

Silver 15 reflective film offers good solar control with a TSER of 79% and a SHGC of .21.

Daytime Privacy

With an exterior reflectance of 62%, Silver 15 Reflective Window Film is a good choice for customers looking to add daytime privacy to their homes.

UV Protection

Protect yourself and your belongings from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. The Silver 15 metallic window film blocks up to 99% of UV rays in the 300-380nm spectrum, preventing fading and damage to your furniture, flooring, and other valuables while also reducing heat build-up inside your space.

Dual Pane Window Safe

Silver 15 Reflective Film is approved for dual pane glass up to 40 square feet in size.

Adhesive

Silver 15 film has a pressure-sensitive adhesive that is sticky once the liner is removed. More care needs to be taken when handling this film during installation.

  1. Best window film I have used so far and works as advertised.

    • Richard, thank you so much for the five star review of our Silver 15 Reflective film! We appreciate the time you took to review us and are thrilled that you are happy with the film.

  2. You can see blinds through the film from the street and you can see in the house if you get close, especially if there are other windows in the house that are in the line of sight.

    • Thank you for your honest review Tim! Your feedback will help others making a decision about buying Silver 15 and we appreciate it!

It’s important for folks to know that all transparent privacy films work by creating a one-way mirror effect when conditions are brighter outside than inside. The greater the brightness difference, the better the mirror effect and privacy will be. You are correct that if there is another light source in the home adding to the brightness during the day (like light fixtures or window that might not be filmed letting in light) the privacy effect will be diminished.

FAQs

Can I install window film on double pane windows?

Yes! All of Concord Window Film’s products are double pane (dual pane) glass safe up to 40 sqft in size.

Can I install your window film on the outside of my windows?

No, all of the film we sell is manufactured for interior installation.

Does your privacy film work at night?

There are two types of privacy film: transparent and opaque.

Transparent privacy film can only provide daytime privacy. Our three darkest ComforTech Ceramic Series shades provide daytime privacy: 25, 15, and 05. 25 is the lightest of the three shades and 05 is the darkest.

If you want both day and nighttime privacy you would need an opaque window film like our Matte White Privacy.

No transparent privacy film can provide 100% privacy. You would need to obscure the window completely to do that. That’s because transparent film works by creating a one-way mirror effect on the exterior side of the window when it is brighter outside than it is inside. Because this effect depends on outside light conditions in relation to inside conditions, as those exterior conditions change (i.e. during a storm with dark clouds, a very cloudy day, or as the sun sets) and in turn the interior conditions change (you turn on the lights) the amount of reflection the film creates on the exterior decreases.

Some things you can do to improve the privacy is to make the outside in front of the windows bright at night with house lights or landscaping lighting. Again, the brighter it is outside, the better the mirror effect will be.
Do I need to purchase the installation tool kit?

We recommend you purchase the installation tool kit along with your film. The tool kit contains everything professionals would use to install the window film.

Using the wrong tools – especially during the squeegeeing phase of installation or the wrong installation solution – can lead to installation problems.

For example, having bubbles appear under the film after it has dried is a sign that it has not been properly squeegeed. You need the correct tool that is hard enough to press all the water and solution out from under the film without damaging the film itself.

And using anything other than slip-tack solution or baby shampoo in the installation solution can leave behind a residue under the film that will compromise the optical clarity of the film.

It’s also important that you use a clean spray bottle when mixing the installation solution. Any residue from past chemicals or detergents that were previously in the bottle can adversely affect the film and/or it’s adhesive.

You can purchase our Installation Tool Kit here.

What comes in the sample kit?

The kit contains 5″ x 7″ samples of all five shades of our ComforTech Ceramic Series film, as well as a sample of our Matte White Privacy film and our Silver 15 Reflective film.

The kit costs $5, but there is a coupon code in the kit for $5 off your first film purchase.

You can purchase the sample kit here: https://windowfilm.com/product/sample-kit/

How do you ship the film?

We ship all of our film via UPS. Once an ordered has been packaged for shipment and the warehouse generates a UPS label for the package, you will receive an email with UPS tracking information.

Most UPS packages arrive between 2-5 days depending on where you live.

If you have any questions about your package, please contact us directly at support@windowfilm.com or 888-206-1413.

Can I return the film?

The short answer is yes, you can. We will always take back film that has been damaged in transport or has a manufacturing defect.

If you decide you don’t want the film for whatever reason we will accept returns of unopened, unused film only.

Because we want to ensure that everyone receives the best product, and due to the fragile nature of window film in general, we do not resell film that has been handled.
