How to Place A Custom Window Film Kits Order:

Custom window film kits can be ordered for our ComforTech Ceramic Series window film only. Kits are available in six standard widths: 24”, 30”, 36”, 48”, 60”, and 72” and in lengths starting at a minimum of 12″ and increasing in 1′ increments up to a maximum of 180″.  Please note, that ComforTech film is not approved for windows over 40 square feet in area due to the increased risk of thermal stress failure with the glass.

Choose Your Shade

ComforTech Ceramic Series comes in five performance shades that are from darkest to lightest: 05, 15, 25, 35, 45.  Use our guide to select the shade of window film you want to purchase. If you are unsure, consider ordering a window film sample kit to view the film in your home.

Measure Your Windows

Then measure the width and height of the glass portion of your windows only. Do not include the window frame. Add one inch to the width and the height for exact trimming to size (some older windows may not be plumb and final trimming ensures a perfect installation).

For the width, round up to the next largest standard width available. So for example, if your window measures 28″ wide, adding 1″ for trimming to the exact size yields 29″. Round up to the next available width which is 30″ and select that.

Lengths are available in 1″ increments and can be entered as calculated (measured with the addition of 1″ for exact trimming).

Benefits of Custom Window Film Kits

I recently ordered from Concord Window Film, and the experience was seamless from start to finish. The tint was cut to the size I requested, with enough overhang that made trimming easy. What really stood out were the instructions—they were incredibly clear and easy to follow, making the DIY installation a breeze even for a beginner. The final result looks absolutely professional and has significantly upgraded the look of my home. If you're looking for high-quality DIY kits, I highly recommend checking out the options at Concord Window Film. Attached is a photo of one of one of my completed windows. I completed 8 bay windows, two patio doors, two screen doors, and a large foyer window.

Film ship quick and window tint 45 looks great on these east windows. Just the right tint without making the room darker late in the day.

Conquer your solar woes with Concord! We live in a harsh desert climate and were eager to enhance both solar and privacy control on two glass-paneled doors in our home. We initially considered mounting shades to the front door and sidelight, but there were a variety of issues that made that difficult (the raised frames around the door’s four glass panels, the overlap of the handle and glass, the inconvenience of manual units and/or expense of automated, and the “all or nothing” view). After deciding film would be a better choice, we searched online but encountered products that were flimsy, too mirrored or dark, or lacking in privacy. When we landed on Concord’s website, Kristen offered immediate support, providing candid answers to a range of questions about our specific applications (shade/sun ratios, use on tempered glass, night visibility, etc.). We then purchased the sample kit and moved into the prep phase, addressing the following: • We were wavering between ComforTech 15 and 25 and wondered if 15 might look too dark during the day or too reversed at night. The pieces in the sample kit gave us a better feel for the product, and since privacy was a main goal, we opted for 15 despite our concerns. We’re so glad we did — in both our spaces, it provides perfect visibility both day and night. • We ordered all our pieces precut, and they arrived inside sturdy packaging. They flattened out easily when placed atop our kitchen island, and after trimming the width lightly, we were ready to roll. • We watched the installation video multiple times, which was a significant help, and we fully agree with other reviewers who note that cutting and fitting the films is easily achievable for most DIY homeowners. • The Concord installation kit makes the process much easier — highly recommend it. • Our project presented three distinct challenges: 1. the raised frames around our front-door panels required a bit of finesse at the corners; 2. the sidelight next to the front door is long and narrow, so we needed a ladder and a bit of flexibility; 3. the manufacturer of our back door had left some glue along the glass panel’s edges. The solution to all of that was simply to follow Concord’s instructions as precisely as possible, use the Concord installation kit, and have a second person available during the fitting and trimming. It’s not a necessity to have someone assist, but it’s easier to tackle “tricky” edges if one person operates the X-acto blade and the other trims off the dangling strips. The film went up smoothly, occasional small bubbles vanished exactly as Concord’s video stated, and the process as a whole was simple — we even took a little pride that our “first timer” attempt could look so professional. But then came the BIG question...how would ComforTech 15 actually perform, day and night? We’re 100% satisfied with the results. By day, the ComforTech 15 cuts glare dramatically and gives a mildly shaded appearance — light gray, not a “dark sunglasses” look — and we now have the substantial added privacy we desperately needed. We can see out the door glass fully, but from the street and walkway and even near the door, there’s enough mirroring to keep others from peering directly in. Our nighttime results are just as amazing. We leave our interior lights relatively dim in the evening, and before adding the film, we kept our porchlight at 50% output, since it shined so intensely through the front door. Now, with the glare-dampening film in place, we’ve been able to change the porchlight to 80% brightness. As a result, the amount of light out on the porch is greater than the light immediately inside the door, allowing us to achieve a fantastic amount of nighttime privacy as well. It’s far surpassed our expectations, and we greatly appreciate having clear visibility at night, to look for packages and check for wildlife on the porch before opening the door (no “reverse mirroring / can’t see out” issues in the slightest). We’re THRILLED with the outstanding ambience, privacy, and glare control ComforTech 15 offers — it’s truly a commercial-grade DIY product that will wow you with its ease of installation and its exceptionally professional performance!

Very happy we went with Concord! Really pleased with the dry adhesive method. I installed widow film in vehicles years ago and that method was very easy to get film stuck where you didn't want it to. Reduced heat in our Great room substantially. While I love the view and the light that is added to the room, our two gable windows were letting in too much heat. We went with Comfortech 15, and it was the right choice. Still lets in plenty of light, even on cloudy days. But, glare is reduced making the room more pleasant, as well as the reduced temperature of the room. We'll be installing more Concord film on our south windows in the future!

    • Roger, thank you for the five star review of our Window Film Installation Tool Kit! We appreciate the time you took to rate us.

    • Naomi, Thank you so much for taking the time to share this—and for trusting us with such a big project! We’re thrilled to hear the custom cuts and step-by-step instructions made the installation approachable, especially across so many windows. Looks like you did an amazing job with the install. We truly appreciate you sharing a photo and recommending Concord Window Film to others!

  3. I purchased ComforTech 25, custom cut to 30″ x 76″ and installed it on a West-facing full-view Gerkin storm door in Indianapolis on 12/23/25 when the temperature had moderated to 60 degrees F.

I followed the downloadable printed installation guide available on the site and watched a YouTube “How to Install Window Film Yourself” at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9n0slZShYv4 a few times. It seemed pretty straightforward to do, but paying close attention to the details is important. I had never installed window film previously and having a helper makes it easier handling a long piece.

I will note that it is indeed very important to have the surface of the film wet when you try to squeegee it so the squeegee blade does not stick to the material but instead glides easily across it.

The packaging of the film and tool kit for shipping was excellent and it all arrived in perfect condition. The material samples I ordered first were very helpful in making my material selection.

All of my pre-order questions were quickly answered and that service before the sale was very much appreciated.

    • Thank you so much for the detailed review of your experience with our ComforTech 25 window film. We are thrilled you are pleased with the film and appreciate you taking the time to share your installation tips and experience. Much gratitude!

  4. Excellent customer service (thanks, Kristen!). Custom-cut pieces made installation a breeze, and the video instructions were clear and easy to follow. Highly recommend!

    • Marianne, thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear your custom-cut pieces worked well and that our installation video made the process easy. We truly appreciate your recommendation and are so glad you had a great experience! 💫

FAQs

Can I install window film on double pane windows?

Yes! All of Concord Window Film’s products are double pane (dual pane) glass safe up to 40 sqft in size.

Can I install your window film on the outside of my windows?

No, all of the film we sell is manufactured for interior installation.

Does your privacy film work at night?

There are two types of privacy film: transparent and opaque.

Transparent privacy film can only provide daytime privacy. Our three darkest ComforTech Ceramic Series shades provide daytime privacy: 25, 15, and 05. 25 is the lightest of the three shades and 05 is the darkest.

If you want both day and nighttime privacy you would need an opaque window film like our Matte White Privacy.

No transparent privacy film can provide 100% privacy. You would need to obscure the window completely to do that. That’s because transparent film works by creating a one-way mirror effect on the exterior side of the window when it is brighter outside than it is inside. Because this effect depends on outside light conditions in relation to inside conditions, as those exterior conditions change (i.e. during a storm with dark clouds, a very cloudy day, or as the sun sets) and in turn the interior conditions change (you turn on the lights) the amount of reflection the film creates on the exterior decreases.

Some things you can do to improve the privacy is to make the outside in front of the windows bright at night with house lights or landscaping lighting. Again, the brighter it is outside, the better the mirror effect will be.
Do I need to purchase the installation tool kit?

We recommend you purchase the installation tool kit along with your film. The tool kit contains everything professionals would use to install the window film.

Using the wrong tools – especially during the squeegeeing phase of installation or the wrong installation solution – can lead to installation problems.

For example, having bubbles appear under the film after it has dried is a sign that it has not been properly squeegeed. You need the correct tool that is hard enough to press all the water and solution out from under the film without damaging the film itself.

And using anything other than slip-tack solution or baby shampoo in the installation solution can leave behind a residue under the film that will compromise the optical clarity of the film.

It’s also important that you use a clean spray bottle when mixing the installation solution. Any residue from past chemicals or detergents that were previously in the bottle can adversely affect the film and/or it’s adhesive.

What comes in the sample kit?

The kit contains 5″ x 7″ samples of all five shades of our ComforTech Ceramic Series film, as well as a sample of our Matte White Privacy film and our Silver 15 Reflective film.

How do you ship the film?

We ship all of our film via UPS. Once an ordered has been packaged for shipment and the warehouse generates a UPS label for the package, you will receive an email with UPS tracking information.

Most UPS packages arrive between 2-5 days depending on where you live.

If you have any questions about your package, please contact us directly at support@windowfilm.com or 888-206-1413.

Can I return the film?

The short answer is yes, you can. We will always take back film that has been damaged in transport or has a manufacturing defect.

If you decide you don’t want the film for whatever reason we will accept returns of unopened, unused film only.

Because we want to ensure that everyone receives the best product, and due to the fragile nature of window film in general, we do not resell film that has been handled.
